Why are the CONTEXT and NC Life Study participants so special?

This is a very special sample because it's rural. Because we have this mix of primarily African American and White kids because we looked at them for many years during those important developmental years. In all sorts of ways. We were trying to understand those different contexts. So it's not a unique study but it has some very unusual attributes to it and we have learned an incredible amount from those kids and their parents from all the research that's been done. So we definitely want them to feel like they are valued so much by by us and you know we really want them to participate.
